Weighed in front of you
You watch the load go on the scales and you see the reading yourself. Nothing gets weighed out the back.
What we buy
Sorted by kind, with a line on why each kind is graded the way it is. Not sure what yours is? Send a photo and we will tell you.
The non-ferrous metals: no iron in them, they will not hold a magnet, and they pay the most per kilo. Copper pays the most, then brass, then aluminium, and within each one the grade decides as much as the metal.
$7–$21/kg
The highest paying metal we take. Grade matters more here than anywhere else.
Pipe, tube, bright wire, busbar, offcuts
More on copper
$6–$13/kg
Fittings, taps and valves. We separate mixed brass on site so you are paid for what it actually is.
Taps, fittings, valves, hardware
More on brass
$1–$3.80/kg
Extrusion, sheet, cans and offcuts. Clean loads pay better than mixed ones.
Extrusion, sheet, cans, window frames
More on aluminium
$0.80–$2.50/kg
Sheet, flashing, weights and offcuts.
Sheet, flashing, wheel weights
More on leadSteel and iron hold a magnet and pay the least per kilo, which is why they are talked about by the tonne. Stainless sits between: most of it will not hold a magnet, and it is worth well above mild steel as long as it is kept out of the steel bin.
$0.40–$2.80/kg
Kitchen fit-outs, benches, tanks and pipework. Grade gets checked, not guessed.
Benches, sinks, tanks, pipework
More on stainless steel
$150–$400/t
Structural offcuts, plate, beams and general heavy scrap. Bins available for jobs over a tonne.
Beams, plate, RHS, general heavy
More on steel and heavy metalThings with copper inside them. They are graded on what can be recovered rather than as clean metal, so they are worth keeping apart from both the copper and the steel.
$1.50–$21/kg
Insulated cable and wire of any size. Usually worth bringing in rather than stripping it yourself.
Insulated cable, house wire, data, armoured
More on cable and wire
$0.80–$2.20/kg
Motors of any size, from workshop tools up to industrial plant.
Pumps, compressors, industrial motors
More on electric motors

Copper, brass and aluminium radiators and heat exchangers.
Car radiators, heat exchangers, aircon coils

End of life vehicles and car bodies, collected from anywhere in Greater Melbourne.
Cars, utes, vans, 4WDs
More on car bodies
$0.40–$0.90/kg

These are the common ones, not everything we take. We do not take household appliances: washing machines, fridges, dryers or dishwashers.
Call 0452 220 422You watch the load go on the scales and you see the reading yourself. Nothing gets weighed out the back.
Settled the moment the weight is agreed. No invoice to wait on and nobody to chase next week.
Two hours after most Melbourne yards shut, 5pm on Saturday, and after hours by arrangement if you ring ahead.
A boot load is weighed the same way as a truck load. Factories and industrial sites, we collect.
Ring us and we will tell you what it is worth and whether it is worth bringing in. Takes two minutes and it costs you nothing to ask.
