Our prices per kilogram are published, grade by grade, for every metal we buy. What you are paid is set on the scales in front of you, by the grade and the weight, and you see both before money is discussed.

Metal Plus is a scrap metal yard in Braybrook buying from tradesmen, builders, factories and anybody clearing out a shed. No appointment, no minimum at the gate, and open until 6:30pm on weekdays.

Why people use us
Open after the other yards have shut.
Most yards in Melbourne shut at half four on a weekday and midday on a Saturday. If you are on the tools until five, or Saturday afternoon is the only time you can shift a trailer load, that is a yard you cannot use.
We are open 7am to 6:30pm on weekdays and 7am to 5pm on Saturday. And if you cannot make any of that, ring ahead: outside those hours we can arrange a time that works.
Come in with a ute, a trailer, a van or a truck. There is no minimum at the yard, so a single bag of copper offcuts is as welcome as a semi load, and nobody will look at you for turning up with a small one.

Drop off at the yard
Pull in, get weighed, get paid. No appointment and no minimum. We are open until 6:30pm on weekdays and 5pm on Saturday, and after hours by arrangement.

How we work
Four things this yard will not do.
Easier to judge a scrap yard by what it refuses to do than by what it claims. Each of these costs us something, which is how you know they are real.
No waiting to be paid
Nobody here puts you on thirty days, sends you an invoice or tells you the money is coming next week. Once you agree the weight you are paid on the spot, before you leave the yard.
No claims we cannot back
You will not find a certification we do not hold or a number we cannot evidence anywhere on this site. Where something is not confirmed, it is not written. That is less impressive than the alternative and it is the whole point.

Metal Plus is the trading name of Melt Metals Pty Ltd, ABN 11 646 984 572, registered in Victoria and GST registered since January 2021. Both of those are checkable on the ABN register in about thirty seconds, and it is worth doing before you hand any yard a load.
We are a licensed operator. Your load is weighed in front of you, graded where you can see it, and the weight goes on a docket before money is discussed. You are paid on the spot once you agree the weight.
Our scrap metal recycling yard buys from the public and from trade: builders, electricians, plumbers, demolition crews, factories and workshops. If you have got metal coming out regularly, that is worth a conversation about a standing arrangement rather than one-off trips.
