Why people use this yard

Weighed in front of you

You watch the load go on the scales and you see the reading yourself. Nothing gets weighed out the back.

Paid on the spot

Settled the moment the weight is agreed. No invoice to wait on and nobody to chase next week.

Open till 6:30pm weekdays

Two hours after most Melbourne yards shut, 5pm on Saturday, and after hours by arrangement if you ring ahead.

No minimum at the yard

A boot load is weighed the same way as a truck load. Factories and industrial sites, we collect.

Who it is for

Pickup is for factories and industrial sites.

Their loads are big enough to be worth sending a truck for: offcuts coming off a production floor, a plant being cleared, a yard that has been building for years.

  • Factories and manufacturers Offcuts, drops, swarf and rejects off the production floor, as a one-off clear-out or every week.
  • Industrial sites, warehouses and depots Plant, racking, tanks, structural steel and the heavy scrap a working site builds up.
  • Plant and machinery clear-outs Whole machines at the end of their life, with the motors and cable graded separately from the steel.

Not a factory or industrial site? Bring it to the yard.

We do not collect from houses, garages or sheds. The yard takes any amount, from a boot load up, with no appointment, and it is open until 6:30pm on weekdays and 5pm on Saturday. You are weighed and paid the same way a factory is.

How drop-off works

How it works

You find out what it is worth before anyone gets in a truck.

This is industrial scrap metal removal that pays the site. A waste contractor charges to take metal away; we weigh it and pay for it, because the metal has value.

  1. 01

Tell us what the site produces

Ring us, or send a photo through the quote form. What the metal is, roughly how much, and whether it is a one-off clear-out or comes off the floor every week.

  2. 02

We tell you what it is worth first

Before anybody gets in a truck. You find out what we can pay, and whether a pickup or a bin on site suits the job, so nobody wastes a morning.

  3. 03

    We bring the right truck

A pallet of offcuts and a plant clear-out are not the same job. Telling us roughly how much there is means the right vehicle turns up the first time.

  4. 04

    Weighed and paid on site

Same as at the yard. You see the weight, you get the docket, and you are paid on collection rather than invoiced later.

Where we go

Scrap metal collection across Greater Melbourne.

We are based in Braybrook, so the western industrial estates are quickest. We collect from factories and industrial sites right across the metro area regardless, north, east and south-east included.

Not on the list? It is a list of the closest suburbs, not the limit. Ring and ask.

By area

Regional Victoria too. We collect large loads from factories and industrial sites in Bacchus Marsh, Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine, Daylesford, Geelong, Latrobe Valley, Macedon Ranges, Maryborough, Seymour, Shepparton, Torquay, Wallan and Warragul. Ring with what there is and roughly how much, and we will tell you straight whether it is worth the truck.

Weighing and payment

You watch the scales. That is the whole policy.

The single most common worry people have about selling scrap is that the weight will not be right and there is no way to check. So we took the question off the table.

  • Your load is weighed where you can see it. Nothing goes out the back and comes back with a number on it.
  • You get a docket with the weight on it. Written down, in your hand, before anything is settled.
  • Grades are shown to you, not just quoted. If your copper is two different grades we will separate it in front of you and explain why.
  • Payment is settled on the spot. Once the weight is agreed, that is it. No invoice, no waiting.

Dawood is one of the nicest lads you’ll meet. Clearly communicated on the phone and was a pleasure to deal with. Had to get rid of these wheels asap and he took care of me with a fair payment.

Would highly recommend his service, easy and straightforward.

I recently had an old accident-damaged car that I needed to get rid of while I was in Bendigo. After searching on Google, I found MetalPlus in Melbourne, and I’m really glad I chose them.

The whole process was smooth and hassle-free. They were professional, easy to deal with, and offered me a fair price for my car. When I dropped the car off, everything was handled quickly, and I received my payment without any issues.

I’m very happy with the service I received and would definitely recommend MetalPlus to anyone looking to sell a scrap or unwanted car. Great experience overall!

Book a pickup

Send us a photo and where the site is.

We come back to you with what it is worth and whether a pickup or a bin on site suits. Not a factory or industrial site? The yard takes any amount, and there is nothing to book.

The quickest way for us to get back to you.

So we know where you are.

So we know whose site it is when we ring back.

How would you like to do it?

We only collect from factories and industrial sites. From a house, bring it to the yard: any amount, no appointment.

Rough is fine. "Steel offcuts and swarf from the fab shop, a couple of tonnes a month" tells us plenty. Say whether it is one job or ongoing, and mention anything tight about access.

Up to four. A photo from your phone is usually enough for us to tell you what it is worth, and it saves a trip if it turns out not to be.

In a hurry? Ring 0452 220 422. We are open until 6:30pm on weekdays and 5pm on Saturday.

Questions

Questions about pickup.

The first two are the ones everybody rings about.

Call 0452 220 422
Who do you pick up from?

Factories and industrial sites: manufacturers, warehouses, depots and plant, anywhere scrap builds up in quantity. Those loads are big enough to send a truck for. Everyone else is welcome at the yard in Braybrook, with any amount and no appointment.

Is pickup free?

For factories and industrial sites, yes. Pickup is only for them, so we do not collect from houses, garages or sheds. Bring those loads to the yard instead: no minimum, no appointment, and you are paid on the spot.

Should I get it picked up, or drop it off?

If you are a factory or an industrial site, ring and we will tell you whether a pickup or a bin on site suits. Anyone else, including a tradie with a ute load, drops it off: the yard takes any amount, and it is open until 6:30pm on weekdays and 5pm on Saturday.

How soon can you come?

It depends on where the site is and what the trucks are doing that day. Ring and we will tell you what we can do rather than promise something we cannot.

Does someone need to be on site when you collect?

Yes. The load is weighed in front of you and paid on collection, so somebody needs to be there to agree the weight.

Our site produces scrap every week. What suits?

Usually a bin on site, swapped as it fills, rather than booking a truck every few days. For anything over a tonne that keeps coming, a bin is the better answer. Ring and tell us what comes off the floor and how fast.

What if I am not sure what the metal is?

Send a photo through the quote form. A picture from your phone is usually enough for us to tell you what it is and what it is worth.

Got metal sitting there doing nothing?

Ring us and we will tell you what it is worth and whether it is worth bringing in. Takes two minutes and it costs you nothing to ask.
