Weighing and payment
Weighed in front of you. Every time.
The most common worry about selling scrap is that the scale is not honest and you would never know. Here is exactly how it works here, so you can check it yourself.
- 01
Your load goes on the scales, not out the back
You stay with it. The load is weighed where you can see it happening, and you see the reading yourself rather than being told what it said.
- 02
We sort and grade it in front of you
Mixed loads get separated, because grade is what decides the rate. If one lot is worth more than another we will show you which and tell you why, rather than averaging the whole lot down to the cheapest thing in it.
- 03
You get the weight on a docket
Written down, in your hand, before money is discussed. If the number on the docket is not the number you watched come up on the scale, say so there and then.
- 04
Paid on the spot, once you agree the weight
Settled the moment the weight is agreed. You are not waiting on an invoice, you are not on thirty day terms, and you are not ringing anybody next week to chase it.
Our guarantee

Got a price from another Melbourne yard? Bring it in writing and we will better it by ten cents per kilogram. Not a vague promise to match, a set figure we put our name to.
Questions
What people ask about the scales.
If yours is not here, ring and ask. We would rather answer it than have you wonder about it.
Call 0452 220 422Can I watch my load being weighed?
Yes, and we would rather you did. Your load goes on the scales where you can see it and you read the figure yourself. Nothing is weighed somewhere you cannot see it.
What if I do not agree with the weight?
Say so before anything is settled. You get the weight written on a docket while the metal is still in front of you, which is the point at which it can be checked and reweighed.
Do I have to sort my metal to get a fair price?
No. We sort and grade it here, and we will show you what came out of your load. Separated metal is worth more than mixed metal, so if yours is already sorted it is worth keeping it that way, but it is not a condition of getting a fair weight.
When do I actually get paid?
On the spot, as soon as you agree the weight. Not on an invoice, not on terms, and not next week.
Got metal sitting there doing nothing?
Ring us and we will tell you what it is worth and whether it is worth bringing in. Takes two minutes and it costs you nothing to ask.
